A short film based on recurring dreams I had that that felt a little too real. Dreams where my teeth would be crushed and I was helpless to do anything except sit with the jaw pain that followed.

BREAKDOWN
The film combines live action footage with hand-drawn animation. The 2nd shot for example, uses a recording of my own hands.

Throughout the rest of the film, I use various recording shot through a mini microscope of objects like leather, egg shell, cloth, etc.

In one of the shots, I combined images from a dental x-ray data base to make a looping video background and edited the colors.

The soundtrack of the film was made by combining ‘Violence in Symmetry - The Refrigerator Magnets’ and a reversed version of ‘Nightmare’ from ‘Perfect Blue.’ I wanted the soundtrack to be as disorienting and creepy as possible, while also being fast paced to match the tension of the concept.
